The Moore Legacy

The Moore Family legacy in real estate development and property management  began with George Dwight Moore in the late 1800’s  George Dwight and wife Lizzie Ellen Tufts , whose family donated the land on which Tufts University now stands, purchased  several pieces of real estate in Boston, Chelsea, Worcester and most notably, Arlington, Ma. It was George D’s  hard work as Arlington’s renowned market gardener that afforded him the ability to invest. The Moore’s built the lovely Victorian estate (pictured below). George D. and son M. Ernest also built and managed several apartment buildings; The Caldwell, The Florence and The Irvington, which still stands today on Pleasant St. in Arlington.

Tastings every Thursday 4-7 and Saturdays 3-6

Newport Wine Cellar has been in the plans for several years while we explored the wine regions and cultures of the world, experimenting with food pairing, diverse varieties, and enjoying the community that sharing wine creates.

Our philosophy is simple: find unique wines that give us pleasure and share those wines with our customers. We hope to impart to you our passion, our knowledge, our enthusiasm, and we hope to do so without the attitude that sometimes accompanies wine shopping.

Our shop will feature high quality, small production, hand crafted, unique wines from all wine producing regions, but we need your willingness to try something new. Weekly wine tastings and regular seminars will offer the opportunity to introduce you to new wines and create a connection with our community.

And, while wines are our passion, we occasionally indulge in a hand crafted beer, so we have a selection of craft and micro brews from the US and abroad.

We look forward to meeting you in our new shop, and thank you in advance for your support,

David & Maria Glade

 Trends in Green
This month we take a look at two super efficient technologies that have come a long way and are gaining popularity; ductless mini split heating and cooling systems and on-demand or tankless hot water heaters. The efficiency of thesetechnological marvels are attributed to the nearly zero delivery and stand by losses that exist in conventional heating/cooling and domestic hot water systems. Building Green
